HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' LACROSSE: LESE NETS 100TH CAREER POINT AS HORSEHEADS TOPS ELMIRA (2024-05-03)

ELMIRA — Zach Lese scored his 100th career point as the Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team beat Elmira 13-3 on Friday night.

Lese had three goals and four assists for seven points. On his second goal he got his 100th career point.

Brady Woodworth had four goals and an assist and Griffin Stevens had two goals and an assist.

Brogan Sullivan had two goals and Cody Dale and Seamus Lynch each had goals, while Ismael Nya had an assist.

Andrew Potter had nine saves and Luke L’Amoreaux had five saves for Horseheads.

Griffin Stevens was 11-for-12 on face-offs and Boe Briggs was 5-for-5 for Horseheads.

“I’m really proud of the kids,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “This is a very talented Elmira team, and I thought our communication was outstanding tonight on defense. Good luck to Elmira going forward.”

Ryan Stukey, Evan Garvin and Landon Cook all had goals for Elmira in the game and Noah Hughes had an assist.

Sam Brenen-Buseck finished with 19 saves for the Express.

Horseheads hosts Corning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
