HORSEHEADS — Hannah Smith had seven total touchdowns as the Corning Hawks beat Horseheads 45-31 in flag football action on Monday night.

Smith threw for four touchdowns and ran for three in the game.

Grace Robertson rushed for 124. Yards and caught a touchdown and Jacquie Crisco had two touchdown catches in the game.

“The girls played great tonight,” Corning coach Richard Capo said. “We got a little sloppy in the second half, but those are great teaching moments. The girls have been working extremely hard in practice, and we finally have the whole team healthy.

“This was our first game of the season where it hasn’t rained, so it felt good not to have rain gear on. Horseheads is a good team with some good talent, so to be able to pull one out is a testament to how hard the girls have worked.”

Brooke Johnston also had a touchdown catch in the game, and she intercepted a pass, and Robertson had an interception in the game.

Jessica Als was 16-for-25 passing for 160 yards and three scores for Horseheads. Karis Adams threw for a five-yard touchdown.

Sydney Blunt ran for 92 yards and a score on 10 carries and Als ran five times for 39 yards.

Adams and Peyton Butts each ran for 17 yards and Alexis Knox ran for 13 yards.

Butts had seven grabs for 73 yards and three scores and Abby Johns had three catches for 31 yards and a score.

Knox had four catches for 15 yards and Blunt had two grabs for 25 yards. Adams had two catches for eight yards and Olivia Gavin had a five-yard catch.

Lily Snowbird had eight tackles in the game and Caitlyn Slavin had  five tackles, while Essanna Marks had four tackles.

Adams, Knox and Serenity Jefferson had three tackles each and Blunt had two tackles, while Butts and Gavin each had tackles.
