HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads baseball team picked up a 17-1 win over Ithaca on Monday, their ninth straight win.

Cooper Ball went six innings on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits, striking out seven. Andrew Wood struck out two and allowed just one hit in an inning.

Horseheads scored five runs in both the fifth and seventh innings to put the game away.

Hunter Matkosky was 2-for-4 with four runs scored, four RBI and a double in the game.

Dom Russ had two hits, a double, an RBI and a run scored and Josh Stout had two hits, two RBI and a run scored.

Dmitri Charlanow was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Micah Hays had a hit and scored a run.

Ball had two hits, with a double and two runs scored and Keegan Monahan had a hit, two RBI and a run scored, while Devin Sullivan had a hit and scored three runs.

Zachary Giammichele scored two runs and Patrick Laney scored a run.

Dylan Schrock had a double and two RBI.
