HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: LATE RUNS THE DIFFERENCE AS ND FALLS TO WG/O-M (18 PHOTOS) (2024-04-19)
Southern Tier Sports ReportSOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame baseball team was tied through three innings, but Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour pulled away late for a 9-1 win.
The Crusaders trailed 1-0 after the top of the first inning off an unearned run, but they scored in the bottom of the first as Alex Daugherty doubled and was driven in by Jahmeire Keyser.
Crusaders pitchers held Watkins Glen/O-M to just two hits, but six walks and six errors by Notre Dame proved to be a big key.
Daugherty threw four innings allowing no hits and four runs, none earned. He walked four and struck out three. Logan Meisner struck out three and walked two, allowing two hits and five runs, three earned, in three innings.
Daugherty had the double and the run scored and Sebastian Capriotti had two hits in the game.
Brendan O’Brien, Casey Kraeger, Luke Richards, Anthony Barkley and Keyser all had hits in the game.
